What is blind flange
Blind flange, its function is to cut the medium in the pipe, according to the use of pressure and the form of the flange sealing surface can be divided into the following:
Smooth surface blind flange, used with smooth sealing surface flange, its applicable pressure range is 1.0 ~ 2.5MPa.
The convex blind flange has a convex surface on one side and a concave surface on the other side, and is used together with the concave and convex sealing surface flange. The pressure is 4.0 MPa and the specification range is DN25 to 400 mm.
The trapezoidal groove surface blind flange is used in combination with the trapezoidal groove sealing surface flange, and the pressure range is 6.4 to 16.0 MPa. Specifications range from DN25 to 300mm.
The "8" word blind flange is also divided into three types: smooth surface, concave surface and trapezoidal groove surface. The pressure is the same as the above three blind flanges. The difference of the "8" word blind flange is that it combines two uses. On one part, the blind flange and the gasket are connected and fixed together. When the flange is inserted into the blind flange, the gasket exposed on the outside serves as a visual indication of whether the pipe is cut. The "8" word blind flange is manufactured in a variety of materials, depending on the temperature and pressure of the medium being transported. Generally, low-pressure pipelines, when the temperature does not exceed 450 °C, the materials used are Q235A, No. 20 steel and No. 25 steel; when the temperature is 450 ~ 550 ° C, the materials used are 15CrMo, 1Cr5Mo. When the pressure is 4.0 to 16.0 MPa and the temperature is greater than 550 ° C, stainless steel is used.
